ABOUT US:

Our Foundation, The Tsunami Relief Fund for the Children of Takuapa, is being formed in Phuket Province according to the Thai law by one of the local law firms. The initial group of Trustees includes several members of the local business community as well as foreign nationals living in Phuket.
A local accounting firm and Law Offices are drafting the formation documents and will be maintaining all records for the Foundation.

DEAR FRIENDS:

For $12 per month you can help one of the 950 homeless children (many parent-less) restart their lives from nothing. The first need - clothing and temporary shelter - has now been provided by the Thailand government. The next stage - schooling again - is where you can help and is the primary focus of our Foundation/Trust.

IT'S EASY TO DONATE:
Please click on the 'How to Donate' link to wire/transfer your donation to these deserving and grateful children. A receipt will be emailed back to you. 100% of all donations go directly to the children. Please take a few minutes and read through the following pages that detail our Foundation with text and photos of the tsunami aftermath.

from Gene McCain ...

We have continued to streamline delivery of support to our children, through arrangements made with the Phang Nga School Teachers and Superintendent, which will relieve the Orbortor office of ongoing oversight of our registered children, and place this task in the hands of the teachers.

We are now able to receive updates from each of the teachers who have some of our kids in their classes. This spreads the burden from the Orbortor and his small staff....to around 40 teachers. Each of these teachers see the children each day at school, so it is easy for them to track attendance for the children in their own class.

As of today's date, (November 30th, 2005) we have received 6,604,496. baht in donations. We have distributed 3,373,000 baht and have a balance of 3,231,496 baht.

Here are photos of some of our kids, now 10 months after the Tsunami.  Also some shots of some of the arts and craft industries that are now active at the Relief Camp.

Our Fourth Newsletter of the year is now posted, with a Fifth coming soon...

Bests Regards,
Gene McCain
